Happy Birthday Bilbo—Back in WV

For the last three weeks we have been back in WV visiting the families, hanging with friends, packing up to move to CO, and…

CELEBRATING BILBO’S BIRTHDAY!

On July 22, we celebrated the big day with a trip to Pittsburgh with the Elder Bauers, Newt (Bilbo’s sister), and the Dungeon Master (Newt’s boyfriend).  We shopped at REI and Dicks (Bilbo’s favorites) and had dinner at Bocktown Bar and Grill!

We had a blast watching a new cult classic Mega Python vs Gatoriod with Bilbo’s family at Grumpy’s (Mr. Elder Bauer) long awaited suggestion and it totally lived up to the hype.  Just google it, I dare you.  The usual mix of board games, good food, and an ice cream trip did not disappoint.  Bilbo, Dungeon Master, and Grumpy went to Morris Park in Fairmont to play some disc golf and the ladies watched girly movies and hung out at home.

To top it all off, we took at drive out to the alpaca farm to see the cute and cuddly bearers of wool and mad cash.  It is Goofy’s (Mrs. Elder Bauer) dream to one day own and operate an alpaca farm of her very own.  Bilbo and I want to add some sheep to the operation and a sheep dog…Oh, how the Bauers dream!

Some time was also spent with my family re-watching the Harry Potter series so that the Vances can see the newest release, playing video games, and having fun in the pool.  In continued birthday celebration, we went to one of Bilbo’s favorite restaurants in Fayetteville, Diogi’s, where he got the awesome black bean burrito and a sushi fish taco with spicy cabbage.  The whole family met us there to celebrate and eat German chocolate brownies…YUM!

We also got to meet up with one of my friends from OT school (C) and her husband (Mr. C) after they braved the New and Gauley Rivers!  The meeting spot was Pies and Pints, another Fayetteville favorite, where we caught up, reminisced, and goofed off.

Visiting with friends and family was wonderful but we are now back on the road!  This time the cats are with us, along with three months of clothing, camping gear, and climbing equipment.  Oh, yeah…and we are in the Honda because we decided to sale the RV.  Check back soon for our July trip summary and new adventures as we stop by Chicago to visit college friends on our way to move to Colorado, where we’ll be living the next three months.
